Here is a new painting video, the reference photo I used is attached below!

The editing-exporting-uploading process takes forever and I wish I could do less of that and paint more. But..here is a new video 🤗 I hope you'll like it!

I'd love to chat in the comments or answer any questions.

Hey Daria! I wanna make sure I ask this in a non confusing way lol...but how do you go about selecting what areas of color from your reference photo you include in your painting? For example this Yaya came out absolutely amazing, and when I compare it to the reference, I notice small pieces of color you dont include. Would trying to duplicat all of the values in a reference not make the painting look realistic? I hope that makes sense

Hi Daria! What did you do between 59:29 - 59:44? I notice the eye looks a lot more blended and smooth between these shots but I didn't see the process after it cut from the palette? It would be so helpful to see what you do in between these shots as I have a lot of issues blending with oils and your artworks are always so soft and seamless! Thanks.

Hi Rachel, In that time you mentioned I just kept blending colors and refining features, just like you see me do in the rest of the video. Same principle as always. I usually blend colors very softly with just a tip of the brush. I use smaller brushes for this (mostly) and oftentimes I wipe the brush with a paper towel before it so the brush is not loaded with color however it’s not completely dry either. Hope that makes sense! I do sometimes blend while having some “intermediate” color on the brush when I’m trying to smooth out a transition between two tones. But that’s a little less common. (I’m trying to include all parts of the process in my videos. However you need to know that the camera stops recording every 12 minutes or so therefore some parts are not captured, and also I sometimes have to cut certain parts in order to make a video better, easier to watch and to follow along :) But I'm trying my best to show my process and all the ins and outs!)
