Gate's obsession with intellectual property and licenses feel like the culmination of his career, a life time of stealing the work of others, making obscene rent off of it, and monopolizing it so he can be the only one to make bank on it. He is the only natural conclusion of the apex animal in a neoliberal economy, a tumour that grows nonstop and devours all for his own benefit, in his own vision. Even his attempts to help others, regardless of the actual amount of altruism involved, cannot diverge from the tumorous path he had tread.

A lot of Schwab’s analysis seemed to be a stretch. “He COULD license the patents, but he never has, but he could one day man.” I absolutely LOVE your show. It’s literally the only podcast I listen to. And I get that while I generally try to be moderate and independent, you guys generally lean pretty left. BUT you should use your same incredible research and analysis skills to explore some LEFTY conspiracies as well! Like greedy corporations run the world, and Al Gore’s infamous the world is about to end shit… Otherwise you will start to become more like MSNBC just ringing crazy alarm bells about how insane the Right is every day bracing us for an Armageddon that never comes (a la the Fox News model)
