Join Travis, Jake, and Brad, as they cautiously step aboard a flying saucer to attend a sleep-away camp on an alien planet… for ten years.  Uncover the amazing, maybe true story of an extraterrestrial exchange program that began in the years following the alleged crash landing in Roswell, New Mexico.  This story has got something for everyone:  Aliens, Clones, the DIA, Time Travel, JFK, and even a little Spielberg!  Does a wondrous utopia beckon us from the far rim of the galaxy?  How’s the cuisine over there?  Where might one go to the bathroom?  The answers to these questions, and many more, await you on the surface of Planet Serpo.

Did the recording just cut out at the end?

This is the same type of sci-fi as Forever War and Starship Troopers (the book) and I am very surprised nobody picked up on that.

I just finished listening to the Forever War audio book a week ago, and it indeed reminded me of the first half of the book.

Thank you for this, and as well please more like it, I needed to laugh for an extended period of time pretty desperately.

One of my weird tin foil hat theories is the Germans actually did have flying saucers in Antarctica, which they called "New Schwabland". The big difference being no aliens are involved. Most likely a bug-out site after the war for high level people and classified info. Why do you think so many Nazis went to Argentina? Closest country to Antarctica. Operation high jump was a US mission to map the coast of Antarctica. They came back almost a year early from the mission(with casualties) because it wasn't really to map the coast, it was to mop up the rest of the nazis. It's easier to believe that highly skilled German engineering created flying saucers. I mean we recruited them all to NASA with Operation Paperclip. There is a famous German engineer who said he was inspired by the spinning seed pods from maple trees that seemed to twirl suspended in the air. This could explain why they had very good helicopter engines that turned into companies like BMW or it could be an inspiration for a flying saucer, who knows. -- Basically the theory being that the USA got the technology from the Germans during operation high jump, then brought it back to the US and started messing around and accidentally crashed in New Mexico.

So I’ve MC’d 2 of my 3 siblings’s weddings and Jake perfectly articulated how I felt when I put them together. Because Jake is a much better writer than I am I will simply copy what he said in the first 1:15; when that last wedding happens I will let you know to invoice me

So, the humans didn't think to bring human recreational stuff, maybe baseball and other sports equipment? Smh

Disappointingly, the fact that the two stars of the actual Zeta Reticuli system are over 3,700 AU apart, almost 100x the orbit of Pluto and far enough to be distinguishable with the naked eye from Earth at almost 40 lightyears away, means that this is just someone's admittedly very creative and engrossing piece of sci-fi worldbuilding. ζ2 Reticuli *might* have very young planets around it (there's some evidence of a leftover planetary formation disk), but from any of their surfaces the other star wouldn't be a second sun but just a little bright point of light in the night sky like Venus or Jupiter. Oh well. Maybe hold out hope they got the name of the system wrong?

Love Jakes Boston accents; Jake if you read this, look up “JFK Clone High” to perfect your JFK impression.
