Alex Jones, M.I.A. and True the Vote. Travis, Annie, Liv, Jake and Julian get together to take a look at some recent wins and loses for various conspiracy theorists. Unfortunately, in this case, you might have to give it to one of 'em. Our guest is researcher Get_Innocuous.

I'm sympathetic to Julian's concern about the precedent set by the Alex Jones verdict to use against a new Stephen Donzinger, but on the other hand, they already did what they did against Donzinger, no precedent needed. Might as well just enjoy the verdict against Jones honestly, I'm not sure it actually made anything worse for anyone speaking truth to power.

I would have like to hear more about it since I listen to knowledge fight and they havent mentioned anything about what negative precedents the verdict could set. Unless I'm mistaken they ain't mentioned anything like that

Assange is such an insufferable shithead. Just watch any interview with him. This is coming from someone who always kept a flash drive with a copy of insurance.aes256 circa 2011, too.

the jones case is extremely unique .. if any precedent was set - it was you can't lie and torment the parents of dead children for almost a decade with no repercussions.

also alex refused to participate in the court process for 4 1/2 years... ignored subpoenas, sent unqualified corporate representatives multiple times to testify etc. he was sanctioned by the court many times for this... again, this is an extremely unique case.

As the conspiracists take power, they integrate with the bureaucracy and become more boring. Even as they become more dangerous.

I genuinely have no clue what you're trying to do here. You're promoting a glorified SoundCloud rapper who is clearly dumber than dirt, and trying to pretend there's nuance here? She says "people's values are changing". No they're not. That's just what brick-stupid crypto bigots say. That line is specifically so tied to white nationalists because they think more people are waking up to their values, and they talk about it all the time. That means she gets her information from Stormfront, or sources close to it. Which is always surprising to find out someone's probably racist, and I don't know why, it's the exclusive end of the conspiracy train. All conspiracy nuts are, or soon will be, bigots. And you all know that. You guys go on great streaks of genuine journalism, then you break kayfabe and turn into Us Weekly every so often like it's what you'd much rather be doing. Don't you want to be better? There's no better way to scratch your itch to be a tabloid?

Chris Dobson

This is completely unhinged, you need a Snickers or a nap or something?

Yeah I've been following the boys since 2018 but Julian's terminally online, brain-dead Twitter leftist takes have become intolerable. For the love of God, touch some grass and learn a few things about what's going on instead of defending a disgusting genocidal invasion. Like what the actual fuck is wrong with you, Julian? No one as ill-informed as you are should be opening their mouth this much. Also, stop being such an unreasonable asshole to Jake. What ever happened to Olekandr Serdyuk by the way? I'm so fucking disappointed in you guys

Also why the fuck is Julian defending Alex Jones like he's some working class journalist? FSS/Infowars is a multi-million $ operation that was raking in 2-300k a day on Sandy Hook lies. Fucking miss me with that pity for multimillionaire Alex Jones and his dogshit fraud operation. - With love from the Crisis Actor's Guild

So good to know that Julian is such a staunch supporter of free speech just for fascist capitalists like Alex Jones.... what a joke. You're the fly in the ointment here, Julian, and I really think you'd benefit from getting off Twitter and reading a book or two

Anonymous

Wow, look at all the concern I have about civil judgements against multimillionaire fascists:

Anonymous

Free Speech Systems was making 2-300k per day while Alex spewed his lies, and Julian can get fucked for carrying water for him.

Relistened to some bits just to make sure, all I found was a throwaway comment making a comparison to Steven Donziger. Though I agree it was kind of a reach, it is in no way as much of a reach as what you've written here. I think you'd benefit from getting off Twitter and reading The art of War and/or How to Start a conversation and make friends.

alex

Jake ya make me laugh

The construction of this episode was really pretty solid. With the antifascist celebrity who misfired and got pilled, to the fascist disinformation group who misfired and accidentally hit truth.

Miss Behavior

I am sympathetic to Jake’s tale of the Texas Toilet Crickets but just know it could have been worse. It could have been Texas roaches.

Yeah, the dumbass comment about Donziger is the exact problem. It's absolutely absurd to make a slippery slope argument here. You have working class families suing a multi-million $ media/supplement corporation on one hand, and a multi-billion $ global corporation suing and pursuing criminal charges in multiple countries against a working class journalist on the other hand. Comparing the two cases in any way is just fucking offensive. Are we really worried about a filthy rich, powerful fascist propaganda operation facing financial consequences through the justice system? It's about fucking time. For what it's worth, I'm a former first responder who dealt with the aftermath of one of these mass shootings, so I'm one of Alex's crisis actors/dupes. You have no idea how much damage he's done. It's not just the Sandy Hook families. He is also still implying that SH and now Uvalde were somehow fake, so that's nice. Also, Alex would have nothing without his generational wealth and his rich, influential parents who are still enabling him by doing shit like holding shell companies for him to hide $ from these suits. They all deserve to be sued for a billion dollars and I don't understand how anyone would find that judgment anything but a cathartic win. Bringing up Donziger in this context is stupid and insulting.

DukeNukem64x

Ahhhhh. I guess I had misunderstood the reason for the reaction, in that the stakes are very much different for the both of us wrt this. Sorry to hear you not only had to deal with that but also had a target painted on you by one of the biggest bullshit artists alive :(

I think y’all might be letting Konnech off a little easy here. They entered into building software in a highly regulated industry, and broke federal laws. I am an extremely average engineer not in their industry, and I could tell you that this work can only be done by US citizens. They were at best incompetent, at worst putting safety of poll workers at risk to save a buck. it’s a shame this reporting had to come from True the Vote, people so dumb that by default, the legit press assumes they fabricated the whole thing…

I wouldn't worry about the implications of the Alex Jones verdict. His defense was not incompetent. He used a deliberate and extreme strategy of absolute obstruction and noncompliance. No one who makes an effort to comply with discovery and obey court orders will ever end up in his position. He got the verdict he deserves and has no one but himself to blame. This is no threat to anyone else.
