Are we sure this 001 thing (and the autoq for that matter) isn't more than just a shit post but actually a big meta joke and everyone is on it except for us.? Kind of like the Birds aren't Real thing? In fact, maybe a lot of this stuff is like that. This may just be how young people get their kicks these days and we're too goddamned out of touch to decode the messages. In other words, we may be taking it too seriously. We may be like our own parents freaking out after watching Slaver videos or Beavis and Butthead.

I don’t think 0010110 from Futurama. After some quick googling, it is not the Time Code from Bender’s Big Score, nor is it the backwards binary for 666 that appears written in blood during The Honking.

pretty sure the 001 thing is a large scale shitpost that drew inspiration, at least for the chosen binary sequence, from an article published in a psychology journal in 2012 titled "DIGITAL IMMORTALITY: SELF OR 0010110?". The guy talking about everything being signals to the brain is 100% shit I considered mind-blowing as a college freshman, only instead of using it to briefly impress a bunch of blitzed stoners he's grifting strangers on the internet. there was once a time and place for that shit in formative social situations but these people are just talking into a box for clout. also when the fast-forward robot voice started screaming about 10010101 i literally started going "aaaaaAAAAAAHHHHH!!!" it's too much.
