Commander Oki will go down as legend in the super soldier program — a sub-culture of the Secret Space Program conspiracy theory. He recently made a video on his youtube channel — Oki's Weird Stories — that saw him delving deep into Super Soldier lore and coming up with his own imaginary story. Find out how he trained with Mr Beast off-planet, learning to wield a psionic blade due to his past life as Yasuke the black samurai. Armed with the story, he traveled to Las Vegas to attend a Super Soldier convention, delivering it in person to the top youtuber in this specific conspiracy theory scene. Also Jake has written a poem about Commander Oki that sounds a lot like "The Night Before Christmas"??

I was going to mention OKI on the free episode comments but was pleasantly surprised to see you guys already found him! His YouTube docs are better than most premium subscription content.

So it seems like there's a weird crossover between the SSP lore and the story for Quantum Break.

Now we need an episode about Stargate SG1 and how much it's both pilled and fighting against pilling all at the same time. I feel like the Secret Space Program is what you get when an entire generation of people watches way too much SG1 and plays way too much HALO.

The less than great David Gilmour song about Gary McKinnon in the previous episode was actually developed into a pretty good album with The Orb in 2010.

The world of SSP role-playing/therapy replacement is super interesting. Duping an autistic guy who isn't doing much harm isn't ethical though. Esp bc Oki was the one making money from the content. This was brought up but should've been pushed harder.

Great episode! Can you guys look into Laurence Gardner’s books and/or the authors of Holy Blood, Holy Grail. These books were the inspiration behind the Da Vinci Code which I think primed a lot of people in my millennial generation towards the things Qanon influencers spout now.

I’ve been listening to you mob since about June 2020. This episode made me subscribe

David Wilcox == David Spade with a Tumor

I’m jealous that people can stay 11 years old in their D&D brains forever.

Their science fiction is always so embarrassingly small-bore and corny. No hint of the sublime grandeur of the cosmos and encounters with beings millions of billions of years more advanced than current humanity, no encounters with the genuinely alien and unexpected, nothing that would actually *surprise* a human, nothing new in the realm of superintelligent aliens that a human child isn't already familiar with. Never even so much as seeing a megastructure, let alone, say, getting rotated through the 4th dimension to be posted on an interstellar superluminal artillery cannon made of concentrated dark matter secretly occupying the same space as, and drawing power directly from, the core of the sun. But they probably haven't even heard of dark matter or know the parts of a star, so they don't have the base to make up anything they haven't explicitly seen somewhere already. No, they're just having little pew pew lasergun skirmishes with scaly lizard men one planet over at the behest of friendly bird men. It's the vision of galactic civilization you'd see in like an ad where Tony the Tiger goes to space.

Awesome awesome episode. Not sure if you were counting me in the “four listeners” who would catch the Casper Van Dien reference; if you weren’t, I’m five.

Intergalactic. Intergalactic. Intergalactic. Super soldiers.
