If people would only pay attention to astronomy, instead of this astrology bullshit, we’d be a much more technologically advanced planet. I went to a K-8 Christian school growing up. In 5th grade, we watched a documentary where a guy claimed he found the star that guided the wise men to Jesus. In this documentary, this dude uses the ancient stars to "prove" Jesus was conceived on 9/11 3BC. We watched this in science class.

I went to a regular public school in Quebec, education is a provincial thing in Canada, the feds don't have much to do with it, except cutting funding by 8 billion in 1990 to provinces, which was never given back. Anyway, my grade 8th history teacher was quite a character, he could go on rants and go out of the curriculum and give his opinion on current events and such. He was fun, he explained to us multiverses, that was in the mid 90's, he also said there was dispute about the historical Jesus, that our calendar could be off by 3-5 years backwards or upwards. The Jesuits do have a ring that says IXXI , 9/11, I didn't hear that from my teacher back then, but who knows, Jesuits are a strange bunch (not implying anything beyond the Argentinian dirty wars and civil society under Pinochet fascism in Chile).

When you guys mentioned how influenced by Hollywood the QAnon lore is, it reminded me of my time as a volunteer at a blood bank and how I would overhear some of the conversations the donors would have in the canteen. This was back in 2018, and when this one old basic conservative guy wasn't dissing AOC, he was discussing the Kavanaugh hearings. He said the reason why he loved reading up on politics was because, in his own words, "it all feels like a spy thriller". So yeah, mass media has a huge gripe on the modern id.
