An enigma is a pastel sweater 🐼

The cul-de-sac kids have a new mystery on their hands. I wonder if it'll turn out successful. You can play this scene in the beta that was released yesterday if you're on tier 3 or higher!

aw he's so pretty! but if Qiu starts doting too much over him my PC is gonna get jealous :P

Idk if it's just this story in particular, but, I already felt someway about tamarack with her "in your faceness". And after what she said about pran? I realise that I just dislike her at this stage. She's her own level of different, but it reminds me of something....like..? Did anyone else have that kid at their school who only had like 3 friends, but they kept trying to assert dominance/confidence that wasn't there, and hated everyone else around them for being able to be themselves but never admitted it, But you could tell by their face? That's how tamarack feels. And maybe I'm reaching but, I don't like her this stage at all...infact. (restarts demo for the 16th time. ) gonna be mean on purpose >>

Pran looks like he’s internally screaming “Stop talking!” I imagine it sounding like the way Rigby from Regular Show does it.

My feelings about her are complicated. Like me, as a player - if she was a real person of my age (when I was a kid), I would have DESPISED her. The way she's in your face, the whole invitation to tea time without the consent of her guardians... it's all stuff I couldn't have handled as a kid. Now, in the context of the game, while it took longer for my MC to warm up to her than to Qiu due to the way she acts (he's shy and reserved in Step 1), he still likes her because they share a lot of interests. They both spend a lot of time in the woods, have similar tastes about various stuff, etc. So despite her being a bit too much for him sometimes, they still get along. Because of that, I like her as a character objectively - as she's interesting - and by empathy with my own MC who likes her. But if I was reading this as a non-interactive story, it's possible my own distaste for that kind of people and the lack of a MC I'd be controlling and who has his own feelings could have made the scales tip to the other side and I could have disliked her.

I think it's exactly for those reason and a few more. So far I feel as if all my interactions with tamarack have been forced. Not in the sense that I have to because of the game, but that she's just, a person who wants only what she wants and nothing in between? Like the whole tea party? HATED IT!! And when people try to be accommodating, she blows them off. But if Mc or qui say no, or anything different like in hide and seek, she just deflates. It's like she's trying to prove herself by being outward, yet at the same time, she doesn't believe or know what she's saying or doing. In that sense, I guess she's more like her mom

Lily the Litten

One could argue she realizes this by Step 2…albeit in that case she’d be severely overcorrecting. I’m starting to feel like the cast of OL2 is going to gather a lot of…complicated reactions, compared to the original. For better or worse.

I think Pran was trying to avoid Tamarack and ran into the MC. I hope my mostly silent MC didn't startle him when I declared he was pretty. 😨

Anime Yay

Ohhh that makes sense. But like you said, it may be considered severe over correcting. And then qui goes through teen angst. I'm hoping so. But I must say, one thing i just dislike so far, is how certain options are locked behind your love level (although it makes sense lol) I have a crush on tamarack in my current play through. So I assume when she didn't want to look in hide and seek, that all the options were just nice, unless you said no. I wanted the option to scream and yell and tell her no. To tell her to not assume everyone is like her, thinks like her. I'm mad that these characters already have amazing range, and I can't wait for everything lol :3

To be fair, I thought the interaction by the end of the current version interesting. My MC is very reserved and quiet most of the time. During the tea time thing, he just clammed up and made himself small and waited for the crisis to pass. But he was upset by the whole situation. Now, in the current "crisis" in the woods, my MC likes the woods and the rain way too much, so he kind of went in hyperfocus mode about looking for Pran and I sort of play him as if it didn't register much with him that there is a true conflict going on. Now, I think one of the reasons I can't be too upset at her is because I've also seen her genuinely upset because she hurt someone during the school segment in the prologue. If you make a MC that looks very different than their mom she will comment on that, and if you have your MC be hurt by the comment, there will be an explanation from mom about the whole "no dad" situation, and you can also decide how MC reacts to that. My MC was even more upset about Tamarack pushing for this topic to be explained (I'm planning for this topic to be a big thing for my MC). It's obvious Tamarack feels quite awful after that and really asks for forgiveness, and so I've seen her more sensitive sides in Step 1 already

Anime Yay

In regards to her more sensitive sides, yes I had the same happen because my Mc is a darker complexion than the mother, so I have seen her be sorry. But it feels like? That's it? I don't count the tea party. Cause I personally feel as if the tears were there cause she knew it would help her get away with it. And in the end, she still got what he wanted x.x I'm interested in your character now, cause it seems like we're planning a similar play through ;o

Konoi Kurozora

Ah well, my MC is a very shy and reserved boy in Step 1, who has very similar tastes to Tamarack, but who crushes on Qiu (and also does ballet). He's also generally mostly silent, but almost always polite, meek and sweet in Step 1, once he manages to get over his shyness at least. With that being said, he's also extremely sad and upset at not having a father, and while in Step 1 he's very clingy with his mother, I'm planning on having him do a 180º turn with Step 2 (I could already experiment a bit with that in the Steam demo). The idea for Step 2 is that while growing up he'l become much more of a wild person - still very silent, but without any shyness left, and clearly not polite or gentle anymore. In that sense, that part of his evolution would be similar to Qiu's in that he'll distance himself from anyone who wasn't already a friend, and will become way more hostile with most people. But as opposite to Qiu, that will also be reflected in more agressive behaviors in general. Also, the relationship with his mother will have soured at this point as much as the game allows. So at this point, he'll be very protective of his friends and very sweet with them, but hostile to everyone else. In Step 3, unless my plans change, he'll be just a more "mature" version of his Step 2 self. Basically, this time he'll be very different to Qiu since he won't revert to a more open behavior, but at the same time, he'll probably be very at ease with himself the way he'll be.

Anime Yay

I like it. So,I have 3 MCs. But for my first I'm doing a male Mc. Darker complexion than mother. He'll have a crush on qui and tamarack on step 1 but clearly favor qui. (Part of me is hoping that she'll notice.) As far as character wise, he's just nonchalant, but not very caring. I want him to be more aggressive in step 2, and show it, but still kind to qui and tamarack. However, if tamarack is still the same way, then I'm planning on haveing the relationship of tamarack sour down. Atleast for the first playthrpugj.

Pran suffers from a severe case of baby face

Konoi Kurozora

Well, from the demo we have on Steam that has a small preview of Step 2, Tamarack seems pretty different from her Step 1 self. I mean, we knew that from the character descriptions posted here anyway, but it's also very obvious in game. So that alone is enough for me to know my MC will probably be VERY protective of her at that point in time
