OL2: Magic Script Sample (Patreon)

Today we have another look into the final free-to-play Moment of Step 1. This from Part 1 of the story, but the event is so large it has three parts instead of the usual two. Excitingly, all three are already done right now! I managed to finish the Moment recently 🥳️. Now it's on to the writing the remaining DLC Moments and finally the "Fall Ended" portion of Step 1. We're getting there.

For now, though, we can enjoy a magical adventure with Qiu and Tamarack.

tam “I’m gonna cast a spell right now. Today.”

tam “It’ll be…”

tam “To have a wish come true!”

qiu “What?!”

“She knew how to do spells?! And not just any, but wish-granting ones? Your jaw dropped.”

“Spell casting? Tamarack was taking this way farther than a fifth grader should. It was making your head hurt with the ridiculousness.”

tam “Yeah! We’re gonna make wishes and those wishes are gonna happen.”

qiu “How are you gonna do that?”

tam “You’ll have to see.”

tam “Though, to get your wish granted we’re gonna have to bring our own offerings. And it can’t be money or some trash!

tam “It’s gotta be something you like but will give up for something else. You won’t ever get it back, so be prepared.”

qiu “Hmm…”

“After doubting Tamarack from the start, Qiu was officially intrigued. She’d pulled him in through sheer insistence.”

“Usually, Qiu was the one getting her on a hook. But this afternoon, he slipped his hands into his pocket and embraced Tamarack’s fantastical tales.”

qiu “I’m in. I could try doing some magic. It sounds fun.”

tam “Good.”
