Hi everybody!

Another month has come and gone already. The leaves are beginning to change colors where I live. Fall has officially begun in the northern hemisphere. Fittingly, this was the first month that was 100% dedicated to Our Life: Now & Forever, and what an auspicious start it was, haha.

Let's get into the what happened these past weeks-

Monthly Content Summary:

I wrote 17,300 words of script to finish the Step 2 preview and begin writing the next Step 1 Moment, Wheels. I also went back through older events and added additional alterations based on player suggestions. 24,000 words got programmed for that Step 2 preview and it was released as a beta build. A lot of programming effort was needed from Shawna to make Step 2 work, and various new features were implemented by them.

No outlining work as done. So, not the busiest month for my own game development, however that's not where the effort had to go for most of my days. September was huge for major announcements, marketing/promotion, and updates.

Next month the Kickstarter for Our Life: Now & Forever is launching, and a lot needed to be done for that to be ready to go. A lot needed to happen before the campaign went live as well.

The actual page with the info and rewards laid out was finalized and shared with patrons, I planned out/compiled assets for the game's trailer and hired someone to create it, physical goods were designed/commissioned/had samples ordered, I joined with Backerkit to help promote the campaign when it went live and to handle distributions of rewards when it finished, I went through a whole process to set that up, and I planned/prepared many, many posts for the days preceding the Kickstarter. There were two different sets needed- one for the Patreon and one for public socials.

I also revealed the launch day of the Kickstarter, October 10th, and made multiple OL2 feature announcements, plus Patreon info announcements, so everyone knew certain things before they chose to back OL2 in the crowdfunding campaign.

Besides the OL2 work, I did some minor things to get the OL1 artbook designer the info and assets needed to continue making the artbook.

Along with all that, I changed my schedule to officially take two days off per week. This is the first time I've had consistent/frequent days off since I started this company several years ago. I also had to do some partial work days and extra-slow work days during the first half of the month because I was worn out from the mad dash to finish the final Our Life: Beginnings & Always Bonus Moment in August. It's been an adjustment to not be working virtually everyday, but definitely a change for the best.

Geeze, so many important links this month, and I could've added a couple more things. There was Qiu's completely re-made Step 2 side sprite and a sample of a brand new music track. I can't believe how many major updates and announcements came in only the past four weeks 😩.

Next month is gonna have plenty more important posts, but I'll save that for tomorrow. Thank you for taking the time to read this update ✨

Fall may have begun, but I'm over here in Colorado and it's still regularly 80! Does not feel like fall at all! I am glad that you've gotten regular days off now, burnout would suck.

It's so exciting to see how things are moving forward! I can't wait to see how things continue to develop in the coming months, but I'm also glad that you're resting more. Please keep taking time to care for yourself, even as you move into the upcoming busy promotional stuff next month. ❤️
