Month End Post: August 2023 Wrap-Up (Patreon)

Well folks, it's the end of summer in the northern hemisphere and the end of the last Our Life: Beginnings & Always real development month. There was a big final push for the Wedding Night Bonus Moment for about the first half of the month, and then I was able to move back into OL: N&F work for a couple weeks, in between doing bug fixing stuff for the OL1 story.

And I've gotta say, this was the most successful month we've ever had on Patreon in the many years it's been running- by far. I think that's incredible! The fact that you all still love Cove so much is just heartwarming. Thank you 🥺️💖.

But there's an actual report to make, so here's the overview of what got done specifically-

Monthly Content Summary:

When it comes to script work: 6,700 words were outlined and 16,050 were written, for 22,750 new words in total. That was entirely for OL2. I worked on Step 1, of course, but also outlined and wrote scenes for a sneak peek into Step 2! And 26,625 words were edited for the final wedding night script.

I programmed 43,750 words. Around 75% of that was adding in the remaining scripts for the Patreon bonus Moment. The rest was for a Step 1 OL2 Moment. And all of that was released to supporters on beta testing tiers.

Two builds for the wedding night came out this month, an initial launch and a bug fixing update.  Both versions included the entire story. And the now-usual monthly OL2 beta update happened as well. It featured the first full Moment of Step 1.

Another major task I took on this month was the Our Life: Now & Forever Kickstarter page. That's going live in a little more than four weeks, and it had to be ready. That kind of marketing material is stressful for me to put together, but it's at a great point now. It just needs some additional images and videos!

There you have it. This has been a month of huge reliefs. I am so glad to have completed the entire story for the Patreon Bonus Moment, and also very pleased to not have the crowdfunding page hanging over things anymore. It's freeing to have reached this point, haha.

Tomorrow is a new month, and a new season (basically), and the perfect moment to take this step in OL: N&F's development. I'm looking forward to seeing how much gets done for OL2 in September since I'm almost completely clear to put all my time into that game's development.
