Month End Post: 2023 January Wrap-Up (Patreon)

Hey everybody 👋

We've had our first month of the new year and I'm very impressed with what us at GB Patch Games managed to do. It was a great way to kick off 2023! Here's the break down-

Monthly Content Summary:

My number one goal in January was to finish the entire draft of Baxter's DLC. If you're wondering, for me the 'draft' is when everything is written out scene by scene with all choices marked out, just in an explanatory way that's not fun to actually read as a player.

And that draft did get completed! His whole story exists in some kind of form now. It's not merely disconnected ideas and notes-to-self 🎉. I think it turned out well, and when it's a real script I'm feeling pretty confident you'll enjoy the events.

I put down 43,340 words to get what remained of the draft taken care of. I had part of the month left still, so moved into actual writing. I got 13,545 words done for that. In total I did 56,885 myself.

But the other writers on the team were checking off scripts as well! I ended up editing 31,400 words worth of scenes sent it.

This month's Baxter beta build was expanded with 21,100 words that were programmed in January, too.

And art assets continued to come in as usual for OL1 and OL2.

Everything basically went as well as it possibly could have development-wise, which is a rare thing in life, haha. And even when work is all good there are still problems around. You might've seen in my Discord/Twitter updates that I've been under the weather since the start of January and had to take some time off at the end of month to try finally getting over it completely. I'm feeling pretty good right now, so here's hoping it won't follow me into next month.
