Hello!

This was a very long month for me, haha. It kind of seemed like the month that would never end, while also never allowing me to get caught up. I returned from a two week trip early in April and it took a bit to get back into the swing of things. But let's get into what was finished when development did begin again-

Monthly Content Summary:

I managed to draft 19,450 words, and write 20,000 words, for a total of 39,450 new words done in April.

21,050 words were programmed. That's just for next month's beta. It's gonna be a big one.

Word-count-wise, that was great! I'm happy when there's 40k words written and 12k programmed in an entire month and I was over a week short on work days in April. However, I didn't finish the specific Moments I had wanted to. The plan was to draft one Moment and write one Moment. Instead, I got all these words drafting one Moment and writing only a bit more than half a different Moment. Part 2 of the Moment might take another 10k words to be finished.

This happened because the Moment I was drafting had both the longest draft of any of the ten Moments so far and it required multiple reworks that involved drafting new scenes. It's the final one for Step 1, so I wanted it to be good. And Part 1 of the Moment I'm writing was about 6,000 words longer than it ideally would've been to maintain the schedule. All those extra words going into those things ate more and more days that were supposed to be spent working on Part 2.

This is usually my problem. I'm lucky enough to always be able to work on the project, unless I choose not to (which isn't often), so things don't get behind because I don't have the time. It's because I can't reign myself in enough and the scale continues to balloon. Well, at least the stuff that did get done is fun, in my opinion.

And honestly, I'm just grateful I came up with a premise for that final Step 1 Moment that I'm happy with. What a relief. I'd been dreading reaching this point because I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to settle on something.

Otherwise, I focused as much as possible on writing/drafting/programming, while also catching up on things with the team and messages after being gone for so long. Nothing else really got done on my end.

There's the update! I managed to make it home and pick things up at a pretty tough point in the story's development. Me and the rest of the team are gonna keep going from here.

Here's hoping May will be a much more laidback month of normal progress! I'll get into what's coming next tomorrow, though. Thanks for reading 💖
