James wasn’t sure what he should do. Claire was talking, going over the details of all the vendors and food trucks that they had lined up for the music festival. But as much as he wanted to listen to her with his ears, his nose was screaming constantly about the philly cheese smells coming from the nearest truck.

James mastered his senses and paid attention to Claire.

“And, that’s it for all the food vendors.”

“I think we have a good assortment,” Gioni added. “Maybe too many hotdog vendors…”

James smiled. “I like hotdogs! Can you ever have too many?”

Gioni smiled back. “You’re not wrong, about that. I was just speaking in terms of numbers.”

Claire pointed at her iPad. “Okay, we’ve extended the festival by a whole day. Sundown Friday, July 12 until noon, Sunday, July 14. We have an A-lister, Justin Mendes, for 8:00 p.m. Friday.”

James smiled. He had arranged that.

Claire looked up at James from her notes. “And you actually pulled it off! Former boy-band legend Jason Forestline for 8:00 p.m. Saturday.”

Gioni added, “Tia set that up with front stage section seats arranged as pre-sale. General admission to the festival gets side stage and then back one section. She said that the pre-sale section sold out in a day and added 50% to the revenue for that day.”

James nodded. “That was a genius idea. Claire, you were right about her. She’s amazing.”

Gioni went on. “I talked to Ailana today. She’s in Egypt, and will be doing some work there with a clean water organization, but she promised she’d be in Miami Beach well in advance of the festival. She’s really excited by all we’re doing.”

James smiled. “Yeah, she’s kinda indirectly to blame for all this, isn’t she? Got me thinking about it all…”

Claire summed up what James had come to realize. “There’s power in connections. When a few people start doing things, it can snowball. It started with an abandoned warehouse out in LA and moved on to Kenosha, and now here we are in Miami, doing it again.”

“Bigger, this time,” James added. “I hope a lot more people will get involved!”
