Really like this episode. This is where shit gets really good. This episode also marks the point where Dr. Chilton — the asshole psychiatrist currently treating Will — becomes a lot of people's fan favorite. He’s a moron but he gets so entertaining for some reason. Also, the scene where Hannibal brings Bella back from the dead is one of my favorite Hannibal moments ever. The showrunner paints a picture of Hannibal being a creature of improvisation and curiosity. Everything he does, he does just to see what will happen. And that was encapsulated so well in the scene where Bella commits suicide, and Hannibal has to decide what to do. He can either let her die in his study, or bring her back to life and watch her live until she dies of cancer. He makes his decision by simply flipping a coin — not because he has some grand plan to endear himself to Jack (that’s an added benefit), but just because it gives him control over Bella’s life and where it ends. Fantastic writing.

Ok, now we are really getting into season 2! I love this episode because this is when Will starts to play the game. He manipulates Chilton, he pushes Hannibal’s buttons by denying his visits and so everyone else gets to see Will but him. Will has a plan to out Hannibal as the Chesapeake Ripper using Chilton and Beverly, if only they would have listened to him and not shared information with Hannibal. It’s frustrating to see Will continue to be ignored after warning Beverly to stay away from Hannibal, but she is someone who takes risks and I do think she would have told Jack if not for what happened to his wife. Hannibal used a flip of the coin about whether to save Bella because he was curious about what would happen. Great reaction!
