You were right in your analysis of Andy, JRabbit, especially when they lost the conflict between him and Robert California but really from the time he became manager they’ve been writing him as similar to Michael. People joke though that he was written accidentally closer to Season 1 Michael who was greatly disliked I saw a video of someone “proving” this on YT but the thing which got me is that when Ryan is Michael’s boss, Michael wants to be seen as treating Ryan with respect so Pam goes in to give him a note. Pam just draws a picture of a hot dog and says he has a call so Michael has to pretend to be on a call when he wanted to show Ryan he was giving him priority. They write almost the same joke with Andy when he’s manager and Erin comes in to say that he has an important call and Andy wants to prioritize the client but Erin tells him his mother is dead and has Darrel pretend to be a paramedic. It’s just one example of them trying to recycle a joke and doing it not as well but if you go digging for them it’s one of over a dozen

Five other times the camera crew should have stepped in and said something. 1. Dwight starting a fire in the office. 2. Dwight bringing a gun & shooting it in the office. 3. Dwight & Angela’s countless “meet-ups” in the warehouse. 4. Angela planning a hit on Oscar. 5. Michael kidnaping a pizza delivery teenager and holding him for ransom. My favorite will always be when Jim left Michael at the gas station. Still don’t understand that one because Jim was their ride too.
