Without (attempting to) spoiling anything: the aim of the Jim-Pam plot in this season, according to the writers, was to question whether they will or will not get a divorce. I know I have an opposing opinion because I'm on Jim's side and really want him to find happiness, but I just find it frustrating how it seemed like Pam saw one place in Philly with a pre-conceived notion of being very adamant and not open-minded about moving there so as she said, even if it was a great job with a great boss she wouldn't feel comfortable. I get that she likes living in Scranton, but it's not that great of a place and she could have tried to find a job that she's more passionate about. Just as I had to learn, even if you love your coworkers, they are not always going to be tied down to one place. And I think this is more of a failing on the writers of the series than Pam. Pam is frustrating to me because she seems very closed-minded about the whole thing. In my opinion they wasted so much time with Brian that they could have spent on other things. They could have shown her working on the mural and that opening other opportunities for her in Scranton meaning that she wouldn't want to move to Philly because she now had options for her as an artist. On the other hand, they could show her doing more things in Philly that would actually indicate an open-mindedness but each time she gets slammed down or doesn't feel welcomed and Jim is too busy to either listen to her or actively listen to her. I feel like this is what makes a lot of people, myself included, dislike Pam in this series because she just seems to unwilling to move towards compromise. Just my opinion, nobody needs to agree with it. In other matters, is it just me who wants to punch Andy in the face multiple times per episode? (Later Edit: Upon reflection, punch might be too much but maybe kick him in the shin?)
