Yeah, just because someone can find a parallel to suit a meaning they are already looking for, doesn’t actually mean the show is saying that. And Claire can actually represent Dean or Sam. Potential "subtext" is not equal to "actual" text, so liking a moment is great, but expecting that the show must go where one wants it to based on those things is something else. Anyway, both Sam and Dean lost a parent then the love of their life (each other, non-romantically), then absolutely lost it after (both begging to die if it will bring the other back): Parallel to Claire if Jody died. The show has always paralleled platonic and romantic relationships (especially Sam and Dean) on purpose.

Supernatural... the only show where people dismiss and willfully ignore the leads for the B and C plots. This fandom is fascinating. ETA: Also going to be interesting to see Shelley's take on all the handsy stuff coming up later in the season.

Was the flashback to Dean and Death's first date in season 5 really needed since it just made Dean look dumb and we already all knew this? Billie is still nowhere near the same level of effortless gravitas and charisma that OG Death had in spades so that scene hurt twice as hard. They are trying too hard with her look, cheesy scythe and then the BOOKS - even though they are apparently are not written in stone. Between her and god, the monologues are tedious as hell! Jody never met Castiel but neither did Garth who named one of his sons after him. So glad we cleared up the important info in this high octane, tension filled final season. Hopefully we can get a chance to find out what Bobby's blonde neighbor is up to and if the wood chipper is working still. Sorry this one was just so awkwardly out of place, lacked connections with a bloated cast while still managing to kill some more people who shouldn't have been there at all and never let up retconning other retcons in a season of exaggerated retcons.
