Thomas just breaks my heart. Yes, the way the staff feels about him is mostly of his own making, but it hurts every time you see him make a hopeful overture only to be brushed aside. Violet in a rage always makes me laugh. The way she was plowing right through the middle of all the visitors. Those groups certainly got their sixpence worth. And those tours were hilarious. To watch them fumble through answering the questions (Oh, these people? They were all... rather marvelous. And sort of... living that life...) was like watching a student try to BS his way through a test he hadn't studied for. There is a default impression of Daisy as the sweet, naive kid because that's how we first met her, but she can have a sharper tongue than anyone when she's in the mood. And the way she's jealous of Mr. Mason making connections with anyone else. Smh. Carson is such a jackass with his wife! Criticizes and nitpicks everything she does, announces he's ready to be served the next course when she's still eating, and mainsplaining everything under the sun. I love that Tom has come back but I feel like all he does this season is just hover on the fringe of everyone else's life, playing matchmaker and peacemaker. I was thinking this was the episode with Daisy's test, but that's next week.
