Dianamon - Part 1 (Patreon)

Alright so finally I was able to finish Dianamon. She took longer than I actually expected. But that's Dianamon, been two years since I last drew her, she's still just as complx.

Now Dianamon is for me Digimon's best girl. Certainly my favorite digimon. And she's also quite important for my art journey. Those who've been with me for a long time may recall what I said about her when I drew her in 2019. She's the first character I made digital fanart of, and the first character I 100% digitally Illustrated back in like 2014 or 2015. 

It wasn't a NSFW pic back then but still, was the first time I tried doing so, and gotta say, it wasn't bad, at the time at least my Dianamon spread through the digimon fandom because there was so little fanart of her. 

Of course back then I wasn't an artist and if she took me longer than usual now...well you can imagine. I worked in her for actual literal months back then, it was just a random fanart project that I did my best for and I managed. But that was also the time that I started thinking I could actually do art and d more of it. Without doing Dianamon back then I would have never started all this.

Now despite that, this is barely the third time I've drawn her, and that's because she's just hard to draw, she might not look like it but her design is just incredibly complex. Even for Digimon official art you can see that a lot of her official artwork has actually different details. A different colour here, different helm shape, different angle for her armor, different boob armor, etc... 

Guess even the official artists have trouble with her features. Though I guess she just likes to change her armor from time to time.

So even then getting the correct references can be hard to sort through. I figure that's a big reason why she hasn't appeared in an anime yet has been quite prominent in the games since her introduction unlike her counterpart Apollomon. Still, I managed again, and I bring you this.

Now why is she my favorite and best digimon girl? Well she's just awesome.

Her design is just amazing, IMO the best digimon design. Not only is she quite hot, skintight underarmor + high boots and lingerie armor. She's also not oversexualized and looks badass. Her design also employs a lot of elements of the mythology related to her. Related to Artemis, Diana, the moon, Hecate etc... and her armor is the most "roman" of all the Olympos 12. It ends up looking both sexy, comfortable and functional while still displaying a lot of the inspirations of classic moon stuff, like being a rabbit, the pale skin and the moon craters.

Aside from that her lore is just pretty cool. Being the goddess of ice, magic, hunting, the moon and all that. As well as being kinda insane. She's also incredibly powerful, honestly she might be one of the most powerful digimon of all.

Anyway

For my personal rendition of her. Last time I made her helmless version have a side-shave hairstyle, more modern idea. But I figured this time I should try one of those Neo-greco-roman hairstyles instead, fits more with her theme. Added a beauty mark as those are also related to the moon in myths and stuff.
