We're Changing Our Patreon Tiers - Again (Patreon)

Hey everyone,

As the title says, we're once again going to be changing our Patreon tiers around. The tl;dr is that we're going to be condensing down to just two tier levels: $2 and $5. The $2 tier is replacing our $1 tier (though if you're currently a Patron for $1, you can stay at that level and continue to get everything you've been getting!) and will get you monthly updates as well as voting privileges. The $5 tier gets you… everything else.

To explain a bit, when we condensed our tiers earlier this year, it was to offer better value for all of you guys, as well as to make things easier on ourselves in terms of content. Those are the same reasons that we're once again changing things and making them even simpler. We're well aware of the fact that we haven't posting as much these past few months as we were earlier in the year, and we feel pretty bad about that. At the same time, circumstances beyond our control have led to things being pretty chaotic in terms of what projects we'll be working on next. While we finally, finally have that all sorted out now, it's taken us the better part of the year to get there. Unfortunately, that's meant that we've spent the majority of that time outlining and planning projects, rather than being able to make much progress on them. We haven't had as many sneak peeks as we'd like just because we haven't had much content to show. Similarly, we've really slowed down on the technical posts just because we haven't had many ideas for what to write about. For the NSFW tier, we've only been able to offer one post a month, and we don't want those to get stale either. We've been falling behind schedule, and stressing out over it.

So, we decided to make this switch. From now on, the $5 tier will get you everything* we offer: creative and technical posts, sneak peeks, NSFW posts, all of it. We're not going to guarantee one of each type of post every month. Some months might have multiple technical posts, some might have none. Same goes for everything else. We are still going to stick to monthly (or at least close to monthly) Celeste Academy dates, though. For other post types, it'll be more about posting when we feel like we have something good, instead of churning something out to hit the deadline. Of course, we promise that we'll still be posting some stuff every month. Now that we're getting into the production stage of a couple of our projects, you can look forward to the eventual return of Screenshot Saturdays, Music Monthdays, and more. We're planning a post soon that will reveal a liiitle bit more info about the projects we're working on right now.

*The one exception is that we'll no longer be offering downloads of our games upon release via Patreon. However, this reward will still be honored for everyone who's pledged to the $20 tier up until now.

We've also gone ahead and changed the access on our previous posts, so if you're a $5 patron or above right now, you can immediately go ahead and check out everything we've posted in the past few months. If you're at the $20 or $10 tiers, you can lower your pledges to $5 without losing anything, although of course we'll love you lots forever if you keep your current pledge amount. The new $10 and $20 tiers are identical to the $5 tier in terms of content, and are only offered to make it easier for people who want to spend a bit extra when supporting us.

As for the $1 tier, we're replacing it with a $2 tier. As mentioned above, if you're currently at the $1 tier, you can stay there and continue to get access to our monthly updates like you have been. We're bumping it up to $2 for future patrons though simply because a lot of that $1 is currently eaten by processing and Patreon fees, and raising it to $2 ensures that we take home at least $1 per pledge.

One other change that we're going to be making is from here on out, all of our Celeste Academy posts are going to be publicly readable. However, only patrons (including $2 patrons!) will be able to vote on who Carida should go on a date with. The voting posts will become public after the poll ends, and the dates themselves will be readable to all upon release. Celeste Academy side content, like adi's recent "@lalalindsey Get Ready With Me" post, will still be exclusive to $5+ patrons.

If you'd like to change your tier, be sure to do so before the end of the month! You can also stay at your current tier and will continue to receive your monthly rewards as described above (so if you're at the $10 tier, you'll still get access to sneak peeks, past and present). If you have any questions about anything, we're always happy to answer them.

As always, we want to thank you guys for sticking with and supporting us. Already, this Patreon has been more successful than we could've hoped for, and it's been a pleasure for us to run. We hope you guys have been enjoying the content we put out here, and will continue to do so. Stuff like the recently-announced Highway Blossoms DLC are only possible because of the support we've gotten here. So again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
