I forgot Franky wipes away the tears lol that was hilarious. I definitely felt the pacing in this episode. Need to wrap up this kyros fight.

I really love the character of Señor Pink, because it really puts on full display one of the things Oda excels at, character autonomy. A lot of times in shonen, especially the big 3, many of the supporting/ancillary characters will be relegated to obscurity for the most part. They might have their origin story, maybe a power arc where they get a buff, and then they’re just background noise and that’s the whole character. This happens time and time again, maybe they’re villains who join the cast or something, but there typically isn’t a whole lot of impact from their character, they’re just kind of… there. This is something naruto does all the time, in fact even one of the main characters gets basically no shine for like 700 eps outside one or two specific fights, and that’s the whole character. Oda, however, has demonstrated over and over that each of these characters is their own person. We’ve seen it happen with Usopp when he left the crew over his dispute with Luffy, and with Zoro when he had to put Luffy in check to maintain the pecking order. Ace would have lived had his own character and will not been so fiery and impassioned, but he had principles and autonomy over his own life, he wasn’t just there to be another badass, and he made his choice to stand by his principles. Señor Pink’s story is not his origin, it’s not how he grew up and found the crew, but takes place during his time with the crew. He went off and had a whole experience around the human condition, finding love, happiness, and experiencing loss and trauma, all apart from his crew. In fact he specifically separated the two in order to lead his own life. These are the moments which really make each character feel more fully realized and fleshed out, and are one of the things which, to me, sets One Piece apart from other big shonen. It’s because of stuff like this that I think my favorite parts of the story are the transitional times between arcs, where they show what various characters have been doing on their own time, and really explore the world building. But the big flashy fights are cool too Also, unrelated, but there is an interesting parallel between Doflamingo and Diamanté. Diamanté carries the pistol he used to kill Kyros’ family in the same way that Doflamingo carries the pistol he used to kill his father and brother

Senor pink my nigga. As Franky called him brother. Apparently they did get that drink after all via Odas cover drawing for a chapter. I think

Philos

It's one of the best cover chapters in One Piece

Philos

It's really poetic justice how Senor Pink would have probably lived a peaceful happy life if he wasn't with the Family

Why is Rebecca and Robin still standing there? All they're doing is watching the fight, which contributes nothing to the battle and puts kyros at a disadvantage. It makes no sense.
