Since I'm removing the novel specific nature of tiers in the coming new year, I can have a little fun with the naming scheme. With that in mind, since I am a dragon, I'm going to name the tiers after the life stages of a dragon. The simplified version. There is like twelve stages in the classic D&D line up. Compared to the five simplified, I don't have enough tiers. Anyway, I figured I would ask how people felt about this. It doesn't change anything, but maybe someone has an interesting idea. After all, at first I was thinking of having different creatures on the way towards being a dragon. You know; Carp, Snake, Kobold, Wyvern, and Dragon. So yeah, if you prefer that, don't be afraid to speak up, otherwise I will probably be going with; Wyrmling, Young Dragon, Adult Dragon, Ancient Dragon, and Greatwyrm.

Edit: in the dragon stages, I'm now thinking Dragonet instead of Wyrmling.

Instead of young dragon, how about Drake?

While "Drake" is indeed a term used for young dragons (though it tends to be used at the same age bracket as Wyrmling with other options being dragonlings and dragonet). It is also used to refer to the wingless four-legged dragons. In the other naming scheme, you could replace Wyvern (2-legs and 2-wings) with Drake. Other options are Wyrm (which is why I go with Greatwyrm, these are limbless), Amphiptere/Coatyl (2-wings), and I'm sure others as these are just the ones I remember off the top of my head. I'm actually tempted to use Dragonet instead of Wyrmling since I use it in Greatwyrm and because it is used in a story I love.
