Posted a few chapters for this a while ago and it sort of languished until now. Since I've got a few chapters ready I wanted see what people thought of the blurb I came up for it when I post it to the other places. Poll will be up for a day. Anyway, here's the blurb:


Have you ever believed in magic? That fantasy monsters and cryptid beasts could be real? At those moments, did your mind stray to what might hide in the dark?

I’m about to find out.

Not that the knowledge will do me much good. Not all Talents are appreciated, and with magic? Sometimes the best option is to just Banish the problem.

I’m Alvin Smithson and let me tell you my story.

Pretty generic fantasy, the not all Talents part signifies some talent system or unique per person talents, which helps with interest in the world, but something about the MC would be good too for more interest draw

Hmm, I did not consider that. In this case when I say talent, I'm using a capital T in reference to a classic SciFi novel series, The Tower and The Hive where psychic powers are referred to as "Talents". Though it is only a reference. Anyway, I'm going to have to workshop it more, obviously. Still going to keep the poll running for the day though to get more opinions and comments.

.. if you go for dark andforeboding, I recommend more neutral fantastic instead of "That fantasy..." >stalk or conceil instead of hiding. after all actions are conscious choices made by the subject. knowledge>knowning or you insted me. I dont really see what your trying to point whit "Not all Talents are appreciated, and with magic? Sometimes the best option is to just Banish the problem." Who is doing the appreciated? World at large? Society? Thous "fantasy monsters and cryptid beasts"? and in "and let.." Is unnecessary.
