This was a fun reaction! I can't imagine having classroom doors that slide open like that in America. I'd be scared. lol Also, I think that high schoolers in Korea are usually not allowed to change their appearance much (minimum to no makeup, a few unfortunate hairstyles to choose from, and no hair dye etc), so that's why they were trying to get each other in trouble by the hair. I think some art schools like the ones idols attend allow for appearance change, though. Also, Korea/Koreans care a ton about their image and their legal systems/systems in general are a little complicated. I don't think assaults are taken that seriously sometimes or are under punished, especially things like domestic violence. But it does seem safer than places like some parts of America.

Okay, last comment. But I hope someday I can be as good at a second language as you guys are. It's so awesome that English isn't your 1st language. I was a very busy high schooler, so I didn't really have the time to pick up any second language. And, for some reason, Americans think knowing more than English is unnecessary, so we never learn second languages unless you're wealthy or from special areas or know a second language from home. I just finished my 1st semester of college and one of the things I've been doing a lot is social justice work (focus on mass incarceration and immigration). One of my main goals is to learn Spanish because it would be really useful for some of the things I'm doing. Let's hope I get there.

Learning Spanish is an awesome choice for a second language. Apart from English, Chinese and Arabic is has got to be the most useful (and in our opinion also the most musical one which is a bonus, haha). Congrats on finishing your first semester! What are you studying?
