Chapter 433: Agarwood Pill

Cultivating a second-grade spiritual plant to maturity under normal circumstances could take a year or two, or even longer. Lu Xuan, lacking the patience to wait for the Yellow Cloud plant to mature, decided to use Green Wood Source Qi to expedite its growth.

Although the Green Wood Source Qi was exceedingly precious, using it on a mere second-grade spiritual plant like the Yellow Cloud wouldn't deplete too much of it, so Lu Xuan proceeded without hesitation.

Strands of pale green spiritual force, brimming with vibrant life force, flowed into the dark yellow seeds. The seeds absorbed it greedily, growing visibly to the naked eye.

Moments later, the seeds' outer shells cracked silently, and tender yellow shoots broke through the soil, trembling gently in the wind, appearing exceedingly fragile.

After successive uses of Green Wood Source Qi, only about half of the pale green light orb remained in Lu Xuan's dantian.

He took out a verdant green spirit pearl from his storage bag. With a gentle squeeze, the pearl released dozens of fine vegetative spiritual energies, all of which were drawn into Lu Xuan's dantian.

Inside the dantian, the pale green light orb slowly spun. As it absorbed more from the spirit pearl, it grew larger.

Once the verdant green spirit pearl was completely absorbed, the light orb inside him returned to its former size.

Having activated the Green Wood Source Qi for an extended period, Lu Xuan felt mentally drained and returned to his room to rest.

Nearly ten days passed in the blink of an eye.

All twenty dark yellow seeds had grown into normal spiritual plants, though Lu Xuan had divided them into four batches, so their growth stages varied slightly.

The first five Yellow Cloud plants matured.

Lu Xuan harvested them one by one.

Due to the forceful maturation without meticulous care, the quality of the five Yellow Cloud plants was merely ordinary.

Lu Xuan had anticipated this outcome and was not surprised. He stored the mature plants in his storage bag, keeping them as preparatory materials for alchemy.

His gaze shifted to the five white light orbs that had quietly emerged.

He touched one of the orbs.

The white light orb exploded into countless light spots, all of which surged into Lu Xuan's body.

A thought crossed his mind.

[Harvested a second-grade Yellow Cloud plant, obtained one second-grade Beast Spirit Pill.]

A gray-black pill appeared in his hand, emitting a faint fragrance that made Lu Xuan consider swallowing it.

[Beast Spirit Pill, a second-grade medicinal pill, crafted from Yellow Cloud and various low-grade spiritual herbs and medicines favored by demonic beasts, contains rich spiritual power. It can be used to feed spiritual beasts to promote their growth.]

"An ordinary pill."

Lu Xuan pocketed the Beast Spirit Pill and continued to touch the second white light orb.

[Harvested a second-grade Yellow Cloud plant, obtained one second-grade Beast Spirit Pill.]

The rewards from the next three orbs were all second-grade Beast Spirit Pills.

Lu Xuan frowned slightly and touched the fourth orb.

[Harvested a second-grade Yellow Cloud plant, obtained a third-grade treasure, the Agarwood Pill.]

As the thought passed, a dark yellow pill appeared in his palm. The pill, whose materials were unknown, emitted a faint fragrance. On closer inspection, the scent seemed to subtly change.

Lu Xuan focused on the dark yellow pill.

[Agarwood Pill, a third-grade treasure, concocted from a variety of spices, essence of floral petals of spiritual plants, musk of spiritual beasts, etc. It possesses a great attraction, especially to feline demonic beasts, keeping them pleasantly content, reducing the risk of mutation, and accelerating their cultivation.]

[Though the pill is fragrant, do not let playthings erode your ambition.]

"Agarwood Pill... So there exists such a third-grade treasure..."

Lu Xuan looked at the pill in his hand, bemused.

"Well, it might be used to treat the spiritual beasts in the cave dwelling, especially the Cloud-Stepping Lynx, to a whiff now and then."

He thought to himself.

"Only one light orb remains."

Rubbing his hands together, Lu Xuan prayed to the void for a blessing before gently touching the last white light orb.

Countless fine light spots burst forth, coalescing into a jade slip phantom. Before Lu Xuan could react, it surged into his body.

[Harvested a second-grade Yellow Cloud plant, obtained one second-grade Beast Spirit Pill recipe.]

A torrent of information flowed into Lu Xuan's sea of consciousness.

He felt as if he had experienced the process of making the Beast Spirit Pill hundreds of times in just a moment—how to handle the materials, control the dan fire, condense the pill, and the timing to open the furnace...

All the previously unclear aspects became clear, giving him a thorough understanding of how to craft the Beast Spirit Pill.

As

he digested the experience package in his sea of consciousness, a smile involuntarily appeared on Lu Xuan's lips.

He transformed into a streak of light, heading to the alchemy room.

"Let the alchemy begin!"

Materials for the Beast Spirit Pill appeared before him.

Lu Xuan's hands moved swiftly, processing the materials and adding them to the furnace in order.

The Celestial Azure Dan Fire gradually spread, covering the bottom of the furnace.

"It's done!"

After a while, as if enlightened, Lu Xuan opened his eyes. The furnace lid lifted, and five gray-black pills flew out, suspended in mid-air by his spiritual will.

A translucent round Medicinal Bug, moving sluggishly, floated out of the furnace, intending to swallow the objects that flew out, but it suddenly stopped, staring fixedly at the pills, unmoving.

"Fortunes change, don't underestimate an alchemist!"

"Didn't expect my alchemy skills to become so terrifying in just a few days, did you?!"

Lu Xuan caught the Medicinal Bug trying to absorb the pill toxins, chuckling.

He continued to craft the Beast Spirit Pills, experiencing both successes and failures. The likelihood of producing medicinal dregs was still higher, again feeding the Medicinal Bug.

However, compared to before, he made evident progress; managing a success once or twice out of ten attempts placed him at a proficient level in crafting the Beast Spirit Pill, thanks to the experience package.

"With the remaining fifteen Yellow Cloud plants maturing and possibly obtaining two or three more recipe experience packages from the light orbs, I should reach an expert or skilled level."

Lu Xuan optimistically thought, regaining his confidence in alchemy.

Walking out of the alchemy room filled with a strong medicinal scent, he headed to the spiritual field to continue inspecting the spiritual plants.

"The Wind Thunder Sword Grass has finally succeeded in condensing seeds."

Arriving at the area where the Sword Grass was planted, Lu Xuan noticed significant changes in the first batch of Wind Thunder Sword Grass he had condensed.

Inside the deep black sword-shaped plant were three slender protrusions, surrounded by swirling sword qi, seemingly condensing all minor sword qi near the Wind Thunder Sword Grass.

Lu Xuan plucked a Wind Thunder Sword Grass seed.

The seed, about an inch long and deep black, resembled a sword with faint black winds swirling around it. Placing a finger into the black wind, one could sense a sharp essence.

Occasional tiny electric arcs jumped across the seed's surface, with soft thunder sounds emerging, then vanishing into the air.

"Indeed, it's a Wind Thunder Sword Grass seed, indistinguishable from previous seeds."

"Previously, they were stored in the Profound Sword Sheath and stimulated with Wind Thunder Sword Qi for directed induction into aberrant seeds."

"But now, they've naturally condensed through legitimate methods."

"I can finally settle my duties at the Sword Hall."

Lu Xuan reflected quietly.

It's the end of the month, humbly requesting monthly votes.
