Hello everyone, here is the latest animation featuring Freiren and Fern from Frieren: Beyond Journey's End!
I really enjoyed watching this anime and I just knew that there's no way I'd be able to animate just one of the girls, so I decided to animate both. There wasn't any particular scene from the anime that I wanted to do a rendition of so I just went with a bit of a standard generic setting to put more of the focus on the characters themselves instead of the scene as whole. Since the animation features two characters, I had more room to include a variety of different angles and positions, especially for the climax scenes in the BJ version.
Since Fern generally tends to be less experienced than Frieren in the story, I chose to keep the postitions and shots for her a little more vanilla to reflect that, while going a bit more risque for Frieren. It's always fun to try and sneak a few subtle things into the animation that reflect the personality of the characters, and is one of the things I enjoy the most about coming up with the scene for each animation.
In regards to the outfits, I went with a nude version as usual while just using the characters outfits from the first half of the season for the clothed version. I also used the clothed versions to allude to the canonical pairings for those who are interested in that, even though it is a bit anachronistic in Frieren's case.
This animation did take a bit longer than I anticipated to finish. For anyone who hasn't been following along with the WIPs, I recently moved and had hoped to be able to wrap the animation up before getting bogged down with packing and all the other prep work. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do that so I ended up having to go back and forth between animating and packing for a bit, and also ended up having some delays with getting all the VA and SFX together. Regardless, I'm happy with how this one turned out, and am glad I didn't try to rush it out.
I'll get started on the Ty Lee animation as soon as I unpack and am hoping to put out a few WIPs for it over the course of this month. There's also some other stuff I've been putting together on the side that I may be able to share pretty soon, maybe even this month, so I hope you all look forward to it!
