Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You can submit your ideas on Discord, too! Come join us in the #patron-item-workshop channel!

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1)  Jewls's Tewls  — This tiny box filled with jeweler's tools grants a bonus to skill checks related to gems. It also has charges that can be expended to create a socket in an item than can accept various gems, granting that item a random property.

2)  Light Brush  — This torch resembles a paint brush, and can provide light in any color for 1 hour each day. However, lighting it curses and makes you want to use it as much as appropriate, and causes you to leave behind glowing paint footprints every so often as you walk.

3)  Weapon Redesign Band  — A band that can be placed on the hilt or handle of a weapon. When you put it on a weapon, the weapon's appearance will be magically altered to the design you want.

4)  Packleader's Shortsword  — A shortsword with the leadership powers of a wolf. You can use Charisma for attack and damage rolls with this weapon, and you can expend charges to mark creatures you hit with it to grant advantage to an ally. If a marked creature dies, you can expend charges to attempt to cause other creatures to be frightened by you and your ally.

5)  Captain's Wright  — A staff carved from the mast of a sunken ship. You can use it to link yourself to a vehicle to gain several benefits, like knowing how damaged it is, make Perception checks from is location when you are within a mile of it, or expend hit dice to repair it.

6)  Ballroom Breaker  — An elegant ballroom mask that grants a bonus to Charisma (Persuasion) checks made between dusk and dawn, and can be used to magically create and wear a formal outfit at any time.

7)  Tape of Boundary  — A bright yellow tape that can be affixed between points to create a barrier like the antilife shell spell, except it can repell all creatures except those you designate when unrolling the tape.

8)  Risa the Ardent's Shield  — A shield that once belonged to a warrior heroine who always assisted her allies. You can replace one of your melee attacks with a special attack with the shield, if the attack hits the next attack against the affected creature is made with advantage.

9)  Splintorch  — This 2-inch long splinter acts much like a normal torch when lit, providing as much light as one.

10)  Battlechef Knuckle Dusters  — A pair of knuckle dusters fashioned after a meat tenderizer. If you are proficient with cook's utensils, these double your proficiency bonus when preparing meat, and magically season the meat. While wearing them, your unarmed strikes are stronger, especially if you hit a creature composed of flesh or muscle. If you reduce an appropriate creature to 0 hit points with these, any meat you remove from it will be perfectly seasoned for cooking.

Thanks to everyone who submitted item ideas and voted for them this week!

Keep on adventuring!
