Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Friend and Foe — A pair of powerful light hammers named Friend and Foe that deal bonus damage and have charges which are used to charm or frighten targets struck by them, respectively. While attuned, their attack and damage bonuses increase, as does the DC for their effects, and you gain benefits to attacks against creatures charmed or frightened of you as a result of the hammers' properties.

2) Ear Ringer — This ear cuff makes you aware of divination magic that targets you with a soft ring, and allows you to possibly determine the direction of the source. Attuning to the cuff allows you to expend charges to gain advantage on saves against spells with verbal components.

3) Nature's True End — A cursed skull pendant for druids that can be used as a focus and turns low CR beasts away from you while you're resting. It prevents you from being perceived by scent, and grants bonuses when dealing necrotic damage. If you die with it, you become entombed in vines.

4) Devil Defender — Cracked and bloody, this shield gives you a bonus to your AC and fire resistance. You can attune to it to gain the ability to use its charges to imbue your weapon with hellish energy to gain a bonus to attacks against demons, or release a searing beam of light that can deal radiant damage in a line causing more damage depending on the number of charges used.

5) Ignus' Ire —A heavy, molten crossbow that fires fiery bolts of molten rock instead of crossbow bolts. If you're attuned to it, you can speak its command word to create a tracking beam of light and fire that follows a target, dealing increasing damage each turn, until it's out of range or behind total cover. When you do, your speed becomes 0.

6) Gentleman’s Longsword — An elegant weapon clearly made for a person of high status. You have a bonus to attack and damage rolls with it and opportunity attack deal additional damage. If you are attuned to this sword, it has charges that can be used to cast the shield spell, to cause a spectral canvas to open at the tip of the blade.

7) Splinter Guard — Ironwood splint armor enchanted with abjuration magic. You’re considered proficient with this armor even if you normally wouldn’t be. When you take damage from a critical hit, the armor splinters and wood shrapnel shoots out, forcing nearby creatures to make a Dexterity saving throw or take piercing damage. A druid can attune to this armor to gain a bonus to AC, and ignores the strength requirement for heavy armor.(edited)

Thanks to everyone who submitted item ideas and voted for them this week!

Keep on adventuring!
