I wonder if anyone has ever written an essay entitled "fifty nice things to say about stroopwafels"? I won't say they should have been served with something else to be more enjoyable, but I think this is one of those foods where the different types are just too close in taste to each other, like sampling dark chocolate, extra dark chocolate, super rich dark chocolate, etc. I could see maybe partnering them with another item for more interest, like the first one with coffee, the second one with tea, third one with a hot whiskey, the mini ones with a shot, then decide which wafel is best and which drink is best with wafels.
