Look what I found on my computer! It's the original audition sides for Epithet Erased. These were made so long ago we literally didn't even have an art style for the show yet, so Oz had to draw a bunch of rapid-fire concept art of the characters.

I posted these with Sound Cadence's permission, but they asked me to hide the rates. I'll tell you that the Prison of Plastic rate is pretty standard, but the original S1 rate was absolutely bonkers high. I asked the CEO of Sound Cadence "Hey, what's a rate that would get actors' attention and make them audition for this weird little series that is half animation and half audiobook?" Boy oh boy did she give me one! OOF, espensy. I've literally never seen another project offer even half of that rate, lmao.

Anyways, this is what audition sides look like. You get a brief descriptor of the character, an image if you're lucky, and then a couple lines. The original sides are surprisingly wordy. Definitely more lines than I really needed. When you listen through auditions you only listen to the first 2 seconds of most of them, haha. Only the ones that catch your ears actually get a full listen-through.

It's fun to see the original descriptors for the characters.

When you write character sides you want to have an example of every emotion the character feels and whatever energy levels they need to hit (angry, sad, cutesy, LOUD, etc). It's kind of funny that I have a line for Molly in there that's clearly meant for the Prison of Plastic storyline when she's getting mad for Lorelai. Hee-hoo.

NOTE: Sylvie, Ramsey, and Trixie are not in here because they were pre-cast to their original actors from the TTRPG.

EXTRA NOTE: The voice references for the characters shown as blue links in the images are as follows: Marty is John Ratzenberger. The Spelling Bee has two because I was open to all genders for his voice: The caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland and the Trunchbull in Matilda

Seeing the characters officially rendered in a more realistic style is really interesting! Haha, those last two lines on Lorelai's audition sheet right next to each other give me fear! :) (also, you linked the references from the spelling bee's audition sheet, but I don't actually the that character's sheet itself.)
