I'd been filming so much recently it's hard to remember but after quickly reviewing I remember how much their presentation excited me conceptually. It all feels very new and specific TO them.

Although I do find some of the production choices uninspiring towards the end, I do think they've started at a great point and will definitely develop into more exciting artists through out their albums.

I do really like a couple of the members' voices too through out and it would be great to hear stronger singing and variations of phrasings and melodies in the next project.

Enjoy!

Really enjoyed this album, and I’ve been so impressed with their harmonies and layering recently. But yet another example of producers stepping away from powerful, embellishing vocals on bsides! Cmon y’all. I know they’re missing their main belter (Chuu), but I know Kim Lip and Jinsoul can really yell so no excuses. People were afraid Loossemble wouldn’t have main vocalists but Hyunjin was bringing the belts so I’m a bit disappointed with Artms not going for it.

On initial listen, I find that I surprisingly liked Loossemble's album more, though I had been following ARTMS more closely. I think ARTMS visuals/videos catch my eye, but the album itself not as much. Wheras Loossemble's album worked the other way round for me

it’s so disappointing that they don’t get chances to showcase stronger vocals cuz I know for a fact that they have them but for some reason they keep making these low effort songs like how’d we go backwards cuz they were literally in the studio belting pre debut 🤨 and now we getting these empty ass choruses I don’t blame the members tho and i’m hoping that we see more variety even tho I really do like this album also I appreciate your reaction cuz you’re always honest but never a hater and I really appreciate that because I can tell that you genuinely just want to hear some good music and aren’t here for the bs and I love that sorry for the long message lol I hope you’re doing good and I look forward to seeing more videos 🫶

These are 5 very solid singers, and that alone is enough for me to stick with them while they cook lol. I do like a handful of these songs though. Heejin is one of my fav singers in kpop actually. Great reaction!! Thanks for doing it 😁

You SEEE ME!! Yess I really just want to have a good time honestly. And tbh it's cos it's what's trendy right now, laidback sultry vocals that go viral on TikTok :(

When i listened to the album I had a similar-ish reaction of kind of an initial "whoa......wtf" with Birth then my interest kind of waning down. (honestly tho...doesn't that kind of happen for the most part when listening to ALL mini albums?) But, after listening to the various pre tracks on their own....the 3rd and 4th one have their charms. One thing to note but the "muddiness" or repressed beat of the 4th one......unless you reacted to or are aware of the first single that Odd Eye Circle released when they joined Modhaus, you wouldn't know that it's the main melody and beat from that song. I think that's why they muffled it as a throwback of sorts. It sort of worked for me bc I perked up when it came in but if you never heard it before, i can see someone having the reaction you had. I just applaud MODHAUS/them for even considering and putting Birth on an album and having it be the very first video this group dropped as a total 5 member group. That takes balls The album very much is a Jaden Jeong/MODHAUS (outside of Birth but even to an extent Birth) type of sound. A catchy melody, really expensive patches and beats, traditional song structure, crunchy chords. One thing I enjoy.....similar to VIVIZ, since they're not rookies and have SO MUCH EXPERIENCE they have an innate confidence and don't have that deer in the headlight/nervous energy that ALL rookie groups have. In all of their stages whether as OEC or Heejin's solo or whatnot, they all exude "been there, done that" which goes a long way in selling a song and a concept I will always love anything LOONA related so Im probably biased but I quite enjoyed this album (also a big Happy Birthday to Choerry! Today is her birthday!)

So glad you checked ARTMS! LOONA are my ults and I'm sad to see them so scattered yet happy that they are releasing music again! As for your Heejin comment, she did and still does start most LOONA songs because she was the first member to be revealed and have a solo during their predebut project. She is basically the face of the group. She also has a lower voice that sets her apart from the other LOONA members.

The only thing missing for me in general is LET THEM BELT! 4 ofut of 5 of these girls can belt!

Idk how much Loona you've checked out but to find the choruses you're looking for I recommend going back and listening to some of their older stuff. This album was giving mature whimsical fairies. It was light which I think was the intention but the lack of upper chest vocals made it feel not really dynamic vocally.

I know the album was already made when the song voting started (Birth and Distress being the winners to be made into full songs and added to the album) However I think the voting proved that fans were looking forward to a more mature sound from the group and while I do like every song on this album I agree that it's quite cutesy leaning for a group comprising of such strong vocals (it's a nice summer sound though if that makes sense lol) I would highly recommend checking out Heejin's solo album for some more powerful vocal moments :3

ugh so annoying like I get wanting to gain more attention but they’re such lovely singers that I think letting them go crazy in the studio would actually draw more attention than what they’re doing rn cuz ngl I miss songs like love letter where they’re just really feeling it and kind of giving it that big dramatic feel at the end idk i’m not that good with words so sorry if the way I described it sounds weird lol

Anita

I really like the overall artistic direction and sound they’re going for but I felt that about half of the songs in this album were quite forgettable and don’t really stick in your head. I thought that odd eye circle and heejin’s solo album from last year were much more solid. But I am excited to see what they do in the future because its clear that they are willing to experiment artistically and have the talent to back it up!

Aha I joined to see your reaction to this album since I really enjoyed it (the synth/dreamy stuff is my vibe), so its a shame you didn't enjoy it much. But your criticisms are fair, and you seem to prefer more vocally interesting songs which is why you liked Loossemble's album. I'd recommend Heejin's solo album from last year for that, and you already like her voice, probably just the b-sides though? Also Chuu, who was the main vocal for Loona had an EP out last year and is coming back later this month too Glad to see you're keeping up with the girls though!
