I think Sylara is a bit of a scaredy-cat. She's easily startled and doesn't do well with horror movies.

Y'know, when I was still figuring out ideas for the story, I wanted to do a background joke much like The Office did and imply that there was a serial killer on the loose. It would've had almost nothing to do with the actual story, but for keen eyed readers, you could figure out the details of "The Na'vi Nabber," an 11-foot boogeyman. The only real purpose of this was to create human/Na'vi conflict.

So in this particular scene, Sylara was initially startled that maybe the Na'vi Nabber was hiding in the park.

I scrapped the idea entirely and replaced it with something else. But what that something else is won't be explored until the next chapter.
