dylan remake (Patreon)

UPDATE: added the original image! my bad. only remade the varsity jacket pic obviously.

the last of the remakes! FOR NOW! I may do more, I did have a lot of fun with these, but the desire came around when I had some free time and had a burst of creative energy. right now that's feeling just slightly depleted, and I'm being stretched pretty thin by remaining commissions and a big project I started work on this month.

still! this isn't a bad dylan. this character is infamous with me and yall (my audience) as a character I never draw, who is pretty beloved from the old days. one of the legacy vasukiverse characters. there is some jank here, I can't deny, I didn't intend him to be leaning?? not really sure what happened there, its probably just where I was running out of steam with these a bit at this point.

I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about dylan these days. I don't really know what to do with his character, he's always been a bit tricky for me. near the end of the comic's run I became pretty bored with the soft and cuddly thing (it's just not my thing typically...) and kind of turned him into a foil character. the squidward, if you will. and I liked that a ton more. not so hard in that direction, I just kind of liked the idea of him keeping his boyfriend in line a bit, as howie is sort of... well, he can be a handful.

you may be seeing some more of him in the future... no promises, but we'll see.
