Caramel (Patreon)

Started playing Starbound again, and had to make a Floran this time. They're soooo adorable with how they eat pretty much anything and anyone, and always mention wanting to do so. 

Named her Caramel since they seem to think pretty simply about names and most don't even refer to themselves as their name, so caramel = good = me.

Also she doesn't have iris', her eyes are insect-like and the iris is just light bouncing back at the viewer (like praying mantis eyes), so she'll always look like she's looking at you, but really she's seeing everything in front of her.

And of course some headcanon anatomy things! With no nose airway they wouldn't have a throat arch, and their windpipe wouldn't have to evolve to match it, so I gave 'em openings for air right behind their tongue! That way it allows the front of the neck to expand a tiny bit if they need to eat something that's kind of a mouthful, when they swallow it's just a straight tube since lung openings collapse into the walls, and it still allows 'em to talk/breath just fine. 

Also her stomach can expand to fit MORE MEAT!
