I've been following a course with Grant Abbit last week, in which I learnt how to model a low poly base character, then transform it into different characters, add a pixel shader and add an animation with Mixamo. Here's my take on the classic Anime Girl - all done entirely from scratch in Blender. This was a lot of fun, and I've learnt so many nice tips in the process.

She's far from perfect, and I'm really not sure why her face looks a little like Ape Woman, but this is certainly not half bad for a first take. I'm excited to try my hand at more such characters, and perhaps move on to higher res objects too.

To render the animation, I've used a particle effect I've made for my Cinema Title sequence. Three basic lights and a bit more contrast, rendered in Cycles with 50 samples. Ambient music is "Out of Harm's Way" by Elm Lake.

Enjoy!
