In this episode I'll take a closer look at the Pose Architect product by 3D Universe. It's a thing that adds morph dials to pose your characters into positions that would be difficult to achieve with manual joint bends. It also has a magic formula that promises to make your figure maintain balance while it moves, which is extremely important to make poses look natural.

It's been on my wish-list for a while. I thought I'd try out the Genesis 3 Female version and share my first impressions with you. I really like what this thing does, it even has a script that will extract a regular pose preset from the dial combinations so you can use it on other figures, or even share what you build. It'll make my in-situ posing life so much easier. The clever bit is that one dial will move various joints on the figure making for some very complex looking poses that would take hours to craft "the old fashioned way".

There are various versions of this product out there: Pose Architect currently exists for Genesis 3 and 8, both male and female, and there's also an add-on pack for the females available. From what I understand, those can be used stand-alone, they're just additional dials that can make poses. If you're interested, don't forget my DAZ Affiliate link when you make your next purchase. The way I see it the script extracts the values done by the pose architecht sliders and thus setting all rotations of the affected bones, and then resets the pose architect sliders to 0. That's why you can save the pose and share it, because the pose architect sliders are at 0. All sliders at 0 will not be saved by "save as pose preset". Which means, if you use other non-standard-DAZ sliders, those will still be saved by "save as pose preset".

PS: The product is currently on sale. I just bought all other versions, including the add-on for the females.
