I did a stream this week in which I was bringing a Mixamo animation into DAZ Studio, then export it to Marvelous Designer and animate a skirt. From there I brought the skirt animation back into DAZ Studio - and it all worked with no poke through!
There are a great many steps to the process, so I'll leave you my notes here, before I get a chance to tidy them up and expand them with screenshots on my website. My plan is to turn this into a mini series this month (before I forget how to do it again). If you have any questions, please let me know. Enjoy!
Mixamo
- export Genesis 1 as FBX (2012 Binary)
- import to Mixamo, pick animation
- adjust arm width
- export as FBX 6 WITH skin
- import into DS (select mixamo.com NOT Animation)
DAZ Studio Import
- save as Pose Preset (animation)
- load correct figure (G3 or G8)
- apply pose
- optional: use Agent Unawares Pose Converter on G8

DAZ Export / MD Import
- export A-Pose (OBJ)
- export first frame of animation (OBJ)
- export animation as "MDD by Animate" (full version of aniMate2 is required)
- import A-Posed character
- model/add clothing
MD Animation
- load first frame of character animation as Morph Target (OBJ)
- load animation (MDD Cache Standard)
- import the MDD as Z-Inverted
- simulate animation
- park on first frame of animation
- export as OBJ Sequence
- settings: single object, thin, welded
DAZ Import
- import skirt 1st frame OBJ
- import all OBJ Sequence files via Morph Loader
- run animMorph on clothing item
