so glad you're finally getting to this!! i subscribed to the patreon just for this haha. also heads up that this comment is going to be pretty long. as for some questions/thoughts you had: the voice actor for keke is fully chinese, and she's also from shanghai just like keke! she actually has a pretty strong chinese accent while speaking japanese, and isn't fully fluent in japanese, so some of the grammatical errors she makes while speaking in the show were unintentional and unscripted. i think it's a cute touch, and it adds to the authenticity. the voice actor's name is liyuu if you want to look her up! also a fun little note because you were talking about who's a first year and who's not-- every character is actually a first year! they mention it briefly, but i think you might've missed it in all the chaos haha. the school is actually just opening for the first time, so every student at the school is a first year because this is literally the school's first class ever. the school used to be another school years ago called jinguu music academy, but it shut down. yuigaoka girls' high school (the school where the show takes place) is the school that replaced it, and it just opened in episode one. unlike jinguu academy, it's not ONLY a music school, but instead it has both a music program and a general curriculum program. also, because they literally only just opened, they don't even have a student council president yet. so ren (the ponytail girl) isn't actually the student council president, she's just one of the many members on the student council. they haven't had an election to choose their first student council president yet. this is also why there's no "three member quota" for clubs at this point. because the school is so new and has so few students, new clubs don't have a member quota. i also have one more thought, but it's not a huge deal. why did you look away from the screen during the episode 1 insert song and the op + ed? they're not spoilers lol, they're parts of the episodes. it was an intentional choice for the show to let you know who the members are going to be at that point. i can understand if it's a personal choice to not want to know who the members are, but it's still sad you missed out on some fun animation and choreography. i hope you watch them later on, at least.

I also did notice that Keke was slurring some words, but I wasn’t sure if it was intentional, or just the VAs pronounciation - it’s good to know that she actually is not 100% fluent! As for the OP ED and insert song - in Nijigasaki, Sunshine and SIP the OP and ED song often had spoilers in them and people advised me not to watch them until a certain point. I wasn’t a 100% certain with the last insert song, but can definitely check it out again after we finish season 1!

Well. In all the openings and endings of Love Live there are no big spoilers. the only spoiler in the opening and ending is showing all the characters that will be in the group. that's it, no other spoilers. so I think it's safe to watch. but it's up to you. edit: I just saw your Superstars episode 3 & 4 reaction video and understand why you didn't want to see the opening and ending.
