I think that as long as you remember enough of what happens in season 1, then the next season won't be that hard to follow. When the first season of Magia Record was released I really liked it and understood it well. But then the second season took a long time to be released and I watched 4 episodes and I was getting lost because I couldn't remember the names of the characters or some things that had happened before, so I decided then to watch the whole anime from the beginning and watch all the seasons in a row. There are still going to be a lot of mysteries that will be explained later, so sometimes you'll be confused. An small detail that I noticed watching these reactions is that since the episodes where Iroha is living with Yachiyo, you can see in the opening how Yachiyo starts to smile in the scenes she appears because before in the same scenes she was always serious. Another thing, Yachiyo and Mifuyu are older than the rest, since they go to college.
