Yeah, I fully doubt there is even a little bit of live vocal in this performance. 😂 I always prioritize lives over everything else in performances. Still, this one is just too hype for me to care (+ I never know how much control a group has about what goes into live sound arrangements - especially with broadcasts when I can see fancams have very clear live vocals ringing out from the stage vs. the broadcast version of the official having the live vocals basically drowning under the backtrack and instrumental). Someone else pointed out to me that in the past dance practice, you can actually see when Dami is lip-syncing to TOP's rap but choosing to hide her mouth behind her hand when you get to the "the dignity of men, the pretence of women" verse. I'm not surprised they went for this. 🤘 I totally agree with you about using G-Dragon as a hype man too. I also think it's a respect thing - like, we are not even going to try and imitate your voice and cadence in this type of decision. 😂 Ugh, only Dami, Siyeon and SuA being in this cover is also a shame. It's why on Youtube I said I kind of wish they'd cover this again with full member contribution. I think their skills have definitely caught up to this. It's why I love their cover of My House by 2PM so much too. Everyone popped off in that one.

Yeah the chest popping made me go 🧐 because even the best singers wouldn't be able to keep that one stable. Which I mean, probably more on the festival people than Dreamcatcher. (And given the often shoddy audio and atrocious camera work... fair.) This cover spoiled me - I wasn't the biggest fan of the original song, but Dami's fire rap at the start and the minor change of lyrics means I don't ever want to listen to any other version, including the original. Also it's just my personal taste in music not being super compatible with that typical "YG sound" so take my opinions with a grain or two of salt when it comes to the musicality of a cover of a YG groups' song!
