A unity package containing assets and tool required to apply the custom feathers to the Da'vali avatar inside of unity. A blender file containing all the assets.

Custom feather variations for the Da'vali model by Rai Kitamatsu. (ONLY WORKS WITH THE DA'VALI)
Ready for use in VRChat, renders, or other games.
Polygon count varies depending on the models selected, but in general it will be a decrease in polygons compared to the default feathers.

For the unity tool:
Please use the 2022.3+ version of unity
Poiyomi version 9.0+ if you are planning to edit the shader

Will work with the default Da'vali model, and most edited ones*
*The unity tool should be able to apply the feathers correctly
as long as the avatar has been exported in similar scaling and orientation settings as default** AND HAS THE SAME ARMATURE BONE STRUCTURE,
some settings adjustments on custom avatars may be needed. Find help in the troubleshooting.txt

**Typically that is the default blender fbx export settings.

Completely non-destructive!
The unity tool will create a new avatar alongside the original, making no changes to the original.

Due to limited capabilities unity offers in terms of mesh editing, this setup is meant to be temporary and cannot be exported to be used in other projects.
Blender setup is advised whenever possible.

Includes:
Custom unity tool for easy application inside of unity, with choices for default textures and customizing colors.
An option to export a static FBX file from unity for creating custom textures.
.blend file for applying the feathers in blender instead, for renders etc.

32 Tail options
9 Skirt options
12 Wing options
17 Back head feathers options
15 Top head feathers options (+5 mirrored versions)

4 Default texture patterns

(Does not include the Da'vali model itself)

The unity tool (if you just want to apply the feathers to your vrchat avatar in unity, this is all you need, however if you can use blender, I would recommend using that method instead):

Drag this into your unity project with a Da'vali avatar already present and import it.

1. Open the Feather Setup Wizard:

- Navigate to the top menu bar in Unity

- Click on "Tools" > "BoringSoren" > "Feather Setup Wizard"

2. Set up your avatar:

- Drag your avatar prefab into the "Avatar" field

- If not automatically filled, manually drag the "Body" and "Armature" objects into their respective fields

3. Initialize the setup:

- Click the "Initialize" button

- Wait for the process to complete (this may take a while depending on your avatar)

4. Customize your feathers:

- Use the arrow buttons to cycle through different feather options for each category (Top, Back, Wings, Skirts, Tails)

- Adjust the texture pattern by clicking the arrows next to "Texture"

- Modify colors for Top, Lower, and Fluffs using the color pickers

5. Finalize the setup:

- Once satisfied with your customizations, click the "Finalize" button

- Wait for the process to complete

6. (Optional) Export for texturing:

- If you need to create custom textures, click the "Export for Texturing" button

If you have no 3D software for creating custom textures, you can use these UV layouts:

Blender file (If you wish for a more permanent solution for your avatar, wish to do renders etc.)
