愛宕號（あたご，IJN Atago）是舊日本帝國海軍的高雄級重巡洋艦2號艦。艦名來自京都府的愛宕山，亦為繼承自上一代在未完成就被迫停工的天城型巡洋戰艦3號艦。在日本海軍中為第3艘使用該名稱的軍艦。另外，這名稱亦由海上自衛隊的愛宕型護衛艦（あたご型護衛艦）1號艦“愛宕（あたご）”所繼承。從太平洋戰爭開始，到1944年10月的萊特灣海戰中沉沒為止，愛宕號一直作為第二艦隊旗艦，連金剛級戰艦、長門級戰艦及大和級戰艦等主力艦隻也在其指揮之下。由於在建造期間突然趕工，所以竣工日期比1號艦的高雄號還早，因此高雄級重巡洋艦亦被稱為愛宕級。
