Virt-A-Mate: Getting Started (Pixiv Fanbox)
Content
This is a simple guide and repository for fans who have never used the Virt-A-Mate software before or would like to learn more about it's inner working.
WHAT IS VIRT-A-MATE?
Virt-A-Mate is a 3D sex simulation software that can be used from the Desktop or in a VR environment. Users are able to download girls, full interactive scenes, outfits, and various other things directly from within the software or third-party sources. You can enjoy others animated or stationary works or even create your own. I strongly urge anyone who hasn't tried VAM to give it a try.
WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD IT AND HOW DO I INSTALL?
You can find all the things necessary to download VAM and get it up and running in this post on the AllTheFallen Forums. Registration required to see post information.
Once you get the installer downloaded, you need to create a folder to install it into. I recommend creating a folder named VAM or Virt-A-Mate in any location of your choice and then drop the installer into this folder and open it up and click the install button. Be sure to keep the installer once finished as it can be used in the future to repair your install if needed.
Now that you have Virt-A-Mate installed, I suggest running it in desktop mode first to enter your key and to set up and preferences to your liking. To do this, you can run the file named 'VaM (Desktop Mode).bat' instead of the normal VaM.exe file, which would open the software directly in VR mode.
WILERATF STARTER PACK
Though there are many great girls, boys, environments, and scenes out there, sometimes it can be hard to find them all since they are scattered about. If you would like a starter pack to get you going while you accumulate your collection, I suggest you give the WilerATF pack a look.
Though old, this pack includes a good amount of various things for beginners. For instructions on how to install this pack go HERE. Though that post links to the downloads that are required, they no longer work. You can find all downloads required HERE.

1. Open any scene and make sure there is already a person loaded into it.

GOOD TO KNOW INFORMATION
1. VAR files should be placed in the AddonPackages folder.
2. VAC files, though ever rarely used anymore, go in the Saves/scene/ folder
3. Girls usually show up in the scene browser. When you open the scene, you can save their look in the 'Appearance Presets' menu so that you can replace girls in other scenes with your saved girls.
4. Girls that do not show up in the scene browser can usually be found when clicking the 'Load Appearance' option inside the Apperance Presets menu. After clicking load, you should navigate on the left side of the browser to the VAR file containing the girl and click on it. She should then show up in the main window to select.
4. For live support you can join the Chat Room and i'll help you out in real time.
VIDEO PLAYLISTS & TUTORIALS
Even though some of the tutorials below use older versions of the software. You should 100% watch through them to get a general grasp of what is possible, even if you don't fully understand it. You will learn things over time and begin to enjoy VAM more the more you learn about it.

You can use VAM Toolbox to remove this file from all your VARs and use my guide for correcting any issues saved onto your characters.
